Brian has been a U2 fan since the early eighties with his earliest recollection being the unique sound of New Years Day blasting out from the speaker cabs at local youth club events. This followed by the hugely popular single releases from A Sort of Homecoming, as the band gained momentum and a growing UK and international acclaim.

With a growing passion for music, and inspired by the band and a general explosion of UK music talent, Brian picked up his first Fender P bass in 1983 to begin a life-long journey in various original and cover bands.

After the Live Aid performance, in 1987 he first saw the band on the European leg of the original Joshua Tree tour, by which time he'd covered a number of their album songs in bands and replicated Adam's waistcoat image, at the time. Both Rattle and Hum and Achtung Baby provided a musical escape during his academic studies and he has continually followed the band as they have developed their image.
