Hi all, I'm Frank and I was born in 1969 in a small town called LittleBorough in Greater Manchester. I'm from an Irish family and my father James, lived in Dublin, just around the corner from Windmill lane. When my father left Dublin for Manchester, he wasn't affluent by any means, so he was lucky to find work on Rochdale market, which if anything, made sure he had food on the table.

I'm one of four children and since primary school; I've always listened to music and carried my 'air-guitar' around with me. On moving up to Secondary school, I realised I didn't fit in with all that was happening around me, but at sixteen, I found friends who shared the same passion as I for music. Later that year, my brother Patrick was watching a video titled 'Under a Blood Red Sky' and I saw my first footage of U2. I borrowed the video from him and he's never seen it since! Sorry Pat.

I went to see U2 in 1987 on their Joshua Tree tour. I was one of the lucky people to be taken from the crowd and escorted across the stage by security to a safer place. Whilst on stage, I looked back behind me and saw the thousands of people and I realised that this was the place to be. I guess it sparked something in me and from that day I'd made my mind up to be part of a band.

Fast-forwarding to eighteen years of age, I formed a duo and a large part of the set included songs by U2. This came in handy, for I then had the chance to join a U2 tribute that were doing the rounds at that time. It did give me some valuable experience, for we played Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham to over fifteen thousand people. I was especially proud to be performing that day, as my family were in the audience and it was the last time my Ma saw me perform with a band. She passed away in 2006 which was a great blow to our family, but in a strange way, it's given me an even greater desire to sing, knowing that she'd be proud of her lad.

In 2008, a guitarist called Luke got in touch with me and asked whether I'd like the role of Bono (Bono look alike / Bono sound alike) in his band, The Original Achtung Baby - performing my Bono tribute. I'd actually missed his first e-mail, so it was pure good fortune that he wrote again a few weeks later. We rehearsed that same night and it went really well. Mind you, the lads still haven't told me I'm in the band! I thank Luke, Steve and Dean for giving me the opportunity of living a dream.

In 2009, we attained a new drummer called Andrew who has great character and even greater drumming skills. I'm very happy with our little band (the original U2 tribute band) and I feel that there is a very successful future waiting for U2-2. Although two of the band has already been signed recording artists, our ambition is to make U2 proud of the fact that we're happy to play their great music.
